Joan Nancy Clark
Joan Nancy Clark, 87, of Missoula Montana, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2024, of natural causes, with her husband and son by her side. Joan was born in Cicero, IL in 1937 and Graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in Education. She worked as a substitute elementary school teacher while her children were young, and later as an accountant for several Missoula firms, including many years at Glacier General Assurance Company. She greatly enjoyed camping with her husband Dan, and gardening and tending the orchard at their home in Target Range. She and Dan were avid square and round dancers, and enjoyed participating in a gourmet dinner club that celebrated a different international cuisine every month. She was a skilled bridge player and had a standing group of friends that she played with regularly. She volunteered with her daughters' Girl Scout troops, sharing her knitting, sewing and crafting skills and organized the annual cookie sale. She also volunteered as an on-call responder for a domestic violence hotline.
Joan is survived by her husband M Dan Clark, and three children, Katherine Hightower (David Johnson), Lorraine Felan (William Dill), and Steven Votruba (Jill McGaffigan); two grandchildren Mitchell Felan (Hannah Zofchak) and Sonia (Tristan) King.
No services are planned, there will be a gathering for family and close friends later this spring.
