Soulsbyville, California - Jewel Tommy Kaiser (nee Robinson) was born March 14,1925 in McAlester, OK to Percy Orville Robinson & Lenore Estelle Roach. She passed away peacefully May 7, 2022 at the age of 97. Her daughter Corinne, granddaughters Sarah and Kailee and great grandson Jackson were by her side. In her final days she was visited by many family and friends.
Tommy was raised primarily in Holdenville, OK mostly on a farm. She didn't realize it at the time, but she was related to most of the people of Holdenville. Her daughters discovered this in doing genealogy research. She graduated from Shawnee High School in 1943. While in high school she worked at a drug store soda fountain. Tommy, her parents and 3 siblings moved to the central valley of California in 1943. Her first job in California was at Maze Drug Store at 10th and H Streets in Modesto, again at the soda fountain. She then got a job working at Crocker Anglo Bank. She took a break from Crocker to have four children. Finding herself a single mom in 1959 she went back to work at the bank. She retired from the bank after 25 years in 1985.
Tommy loved to travel! She made frequent trips into the central Sierras backcountry with horses, along with her husband Ed and family friends. She enjoyed being in the outdoors and fishing at Kennedy Lake. Other places she traveled to are Salt Lake City, Mexico City, Mazatlán, going up the Mississippi River from New Orleans to Nashville on a paddle boat, Italy, Egypt, the Holy Lands, Turkey, Greece, Spain, Switzerland and Hawaii. She also enjoyed road trips across the US with her daughter Corinne driving.
Some of Tommy's favorite things were chocolate (she always had a giant Trader Joe's bar in the refrigerator)and candy in the candy jar on her coffee table, hugs from friends and family, warm sandy beaches, backcountry mountains, a warm bed on cold nights, pesto on pasta, medium rare steaks, salad with "body", lunch with Mimi, one of her best friends, finishing a house cleaning chore, gardening, walking with Doris J, coffee with good friends, lunch and chatting with her daughters and son, cooking a good meal for close friends and family, visits with Sue Morris, Marge Cole,Johnnie Roberts and Nadine Sparks, lunch with the Crocker Bank group, a day of shopping and lunch with a grandchild, counting money, times when her bank book balanced easily, a new outfit that fit and made her look better, mocha from the Plantation and being in Centenary Church. Tommy had many varied interests and favorites from traveling the world to taking a grandchild out to lunch and shopping for their birthday. She fiercely loved her children and grandchildren.
Tommy was preceded in death by her son Robert Samuel Hazer, her parents Percy Orville Robinson and Lenore Estelle Roach,6 siblings, husbands Brady Edler and Ed Kaiser. She is survived by her sister Gloria Emert, her children Elizabeth Hazer Prohaska (Jack), Eric Travis Hazer (Sharon), Corinne Hazer Grandstaff and Lori Kaiser Rezzonico (Jim); grandchildren Aaron Prohaska (Zhenya), Neill Prohaska (Ari), Cameron and Corey Hazer, Christopher Grandstaff (Jackie), Sarah Loughmiller (Eli), Kailee Burleigh (Joel), Vincent & Spencer Rezzonico and 9 great grandchildren. A giant thank you goes out to Sue Fristad, a care giver who was with Tommy for the last 4 years, spending much time with her and being very patient in taking care of her.
