Larry McDonald Obituary

Larry "Mac" McDonald
October 5, 1951 - June 24, 2022
Modesto, California - Larry was born in San Francisco, CA and raised in the loving home of his parents James and Alfretta Hankins. Larry loved God, life, his family, adventure, good food and good times. He is a son, a husband, a father, grandfather and great grandfather. Larry is also the best friend to many. We are saddened by his passing and the world is a little less brighter in his absence. Throughout his life Larry lived to feed all who crossed his path, whether it was their bellies or their souls, they left his presence full of love. To this man, no one was ever a stranger. Through the hallowed halls of his various church homes, to the meeting rooms of Alcoholic Anonymous, Larry Mac has touched many lives and will remain forever a huge part of everyone's story. Larry was preceded in death by his mother Alfretta, his grandparents, numerous aunts and uncles and the mother of his children. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife Debra McDonald, his father James Hankins and bonus-mother Vivian Hankins. His three younger sisters Linda Jasseh (Modu), LaDonna Ramirez (Rene) and Tanya Woodson (Kevin). His two bonus sisters Debbie Smith (Victor) and Lisa Timmons-Goree (Ali) His two amazing daughters Megan McDonald and Laura Pitts, his son in law Will "Willard" Pitts and the apple of his eye, his granddaughter Alana "K" Pitts. He also leaves behind his nieces and nephews James & Kiana Ramirez, Michaela Misenhelter, Jesse & Michael Patrick, Justin & Landon Timmons. Per the request of Larry the family will not have a funeral but they will be celebrating and remembering his life on Saturday, July 2nd at Beyer Park in Modesto (1400 Beyer Park Court, Modesto, CA) from 12PM until 4PM.

Remembering our brother in spirit, laughter, and hard work - Larry "Mac" Macdonald.

It´s hard to put into words how much we miss your energy, Mac. Your happy-go-lucky personality lit up every room and every job site, and nowhere was that more true than during the time of the Home & Garden Show with the Macdonald Dream Team. We were more than just coworkers - we were a family, and you were the heartbeat of the crew.

Came across a picture the other day - that familiar smile, that unmistakable presence - and it hit me how much I miss your laugh, your jokes, and your drive to make even the longest days feel like good times. You always found a way to make the hard work lighter and the memories last longer.

I miss you, brother. Thank you for the memories, for the laughs, and for being the kind of person we all were lucky to know. Until we meet again.

- With love and respect, always.
