Pete Duran Obituary

Pete David Duran
June 17, 1935 - October 4, 2015
Pete David Duran, a 30 year resident of Modesto, California was born at home in San Jose, California, June 17, 1935. Pete was a loving husband, father, son, uncle, grandfather, and friend. He is the son of Pedro and Ramona Duran, and brother to 11 siblings. He survived by his wife Linda of 26 years; his children, Pete Jr. (Jenny), Michael, Mona, Veronica, Shelley (Craig), Sue (Kevin), Julie (Jose), and Sean; 12 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and his animal ark of dogs and cats. Pete is a Veteran of the United States Army, After an honorable discharge from the Army, he attended college, and then technical school for welding. Pete worked at Northrup Grumman / Westinghouse for 39 years, where he was a friend to many.
Pete was a devout Christian, and could be found at Big Valley Grace church every Sunday, as he was a former minister for Iglesia De Cristo in San Jose.
Pete loved the 49ers, but when he wasn't watching the game he could be found telling a story or two (maybe a few repeated). He loved to tell stories of his family whom he loved and cherished. His family and friends will always be grateful for the memories of his stories, and will cherish them forever. He loved dancing, all animals, motorcycle racing, boxing, camping, Brandy and coke.
He was a stranger to none, and a friend to all.
A memorial service to honor and celebrate his life will be held October 10, 2015 at 11:00 am at Chapel of the Flowers, Cherokee Memorial Park & Funeral Home, Harney Lane at Highway 99, Lodi, CA. Reception to follow the services.
