Francis Davi Obituary

Monterey - Francis was a passionate man who loved wholeheartedly, and gave generously of himself through community services and volunteering for many local fundraisers. He donated his time and talents to numerous schools and local organizations around the Monterey Peninsula, from coaching on the field to plastering the Palma Chapel, he was always there, whatever task was needed.
Francis loved being involved with each of his children's extracurricular activities; he cherished his time with each of them and loved being a part of their lives in every aspect possible. He made it possible for his family to be well-traveled and in 2004, brought his family to Sicily, Italy where his father was born. His life was all about family and friends. He was happiest entertaining, singing and cooking for everyone.
Francis was a member of the Festa Italia Committee, The Monterey Elks Lodge, The American Society of Home Inspectors, and the National Small Business Alliance. Francis owned and operated Precision Plastering and Ace Home Inspection Services.
Francis is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Estelle Renee; four children, Joey Davi of Los Altos, Olivia Davi of Santa Barbara, Christa Davi of Monterey and Frankie Davi of Monterey; his maternal grandfather, Preston Biggers of Sacramento; his mother, Loretta Davi of Carmel; sister, Gina Davi (Bill); brother, Joseph Davi (Kristi) of Seaside; and brother, Anthony Davison (Danielle) of Chowchilla. He was predeceased by his father, Giuseppe Davi.

The family would like to thank everyone for their love, prayers and support.
Family visitation will be at 6:00pm Thursday, February 2, 2012 at San Carlos Cathedral, followed by a Rosary at 7:00pm. Funeral Mass will be at 9:30am Friday, February 3, 2012 at San Carlos Cathedral.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in his name may be made to The John Spadaro Scholarship; Bronco World Series, c/o the Frankie Bruno Memorial Fund; Sabu Shake, Sr. Charitable Foundation; or Palma High School.

Monterey is not the same without Francis. We miss his infectious laugh and great sense of humor and his "ready-to-help anyone with anything" attitude. He was one of those people you were always glad to run into. He would leave you with a smile on your face.
We are blessed with his legacy of his wonderful family and his enduring spirit of positive energy.
His courage was an inspiration to us.

Renee - When I think back to the evening where I shared with you guys my journey and we prayed for a miracle - looking back I feel that we got one! I know that sounds crazy - but when I look at the pictures of the fall holidays and think of Christmas - and the fact that God in His mercy gave you those moments, I REALLY feel like He extended Francis' life to give you and the kids that time. We are so helpless in being able to grasp how God can be glorified in loss - how God can be honored through the pain - and the "but God" here is that we can trust Him even in this moment. We continue to keep you and the kids in our prayers - that you will feel the love and strength from all who care so deeply for you. The memories of the Casas / Davi families playing, laughing, traveling and lovingly sharing so many memories over the years will be treasured forever. Renee & Family-- My deepest sympathy in this time of your loss. I met Francis through Palma and Notre Dame as a loving father and uncle to his children and nephew. He was a wonderful person in all the time and effort he spent in support of these schools and the activities that he involved himself with. Talking sports with him was always a special time as he was truly a man's man when it came to these things. Although I didn't know Francis for a long time, the time I knew him was memorable.
