J. BAILEY Obituary
BAILEY, J. Paul Jr., Beloved son, brother and husband left this earth to be with God on Thursday, Octo-ber 27, 2005. He leaves behind to cherish his memories, his father, Paul Bailey Sr., his sister, Jayne Bailey Blake and her husband James Blake, his brother Clay Bailey, his wife Carol Slaton Bailey. He also has a special place in his heart for his aunt Hazel Compton who help raise him to be-come the man he was destined to be.Many of his love ones have gone before him including his mother Betty Clay Bailey. He was raised by incredible parents who molded his life by setting examples of good moral judgment and by teaching him to follow the Golden Rule... and every early in his short time on this earth, he develop a sense of fairness, kindness and a joy for life that he shared with all people who were blessed enough to know him.He was married to Leslie Morris Bai-ley for almost 17 years. He was truly the only love of her life and soul-mate. and he will always be. Paul, Jr. was the most incredible un-cle to his nephews, Wes Blake, Kyle Blake, Slaton Bailey, Austin Bailey, Tripp Wheat and two lovely nieces, Kristina Wheat and Jessic-Lynne Wheat.When Paul Bailey married Leslie Little did he know he would also be-come the best friend to her brother Andy Morris and her sister Janet Wheat. Of course in that deal, came along Sonny Wheat his brother in law and good friend Thomas Cornacchia. His extended family included all of his ""Frat"" brother from the University of Alabama and their families. His annual ""Lake Gathering"" for over 30 years was the highlight of his sum-mer, allowing him to spend time with those he loved and watch their children grow from babes in arms to remarkable young men and women.Paul Bailey, Jr. never met a man or woman or child he didn't like. He was comfortable with presidents and paupers and he never judged anyone.... never.He was known for his generosity and quick wit. He would sit for hours listening to those around him and quietly come up with the one defin-ing word, sentence or thought that made the entire moment.He was quick with a smile and a warm handshake. He lived life like we should all live life...one day at a time. He rejoiced in the simple things and was always true to him-self. He was a gentle leader who left his handprint on everyone's heart.Funeral services will be Sunday, Oc-tober 30th at 2:00 pm from Morning-view Baptist Church. Burial will fol-low in Greenwood Cemetery. Paul, Jr. will lie-in-state at the church 1 hour prior to the service.His pallbearers include some of the men closet to him in his life: Johnny Moses, John Beasley, Steve Peters, Mike Parrish, John Estis, Ricky Mon-roe, Mark Holibaugh and Richard Maloy.Honorary Pallbearers are all mem-bers of Paul's practice ""rock and roll"" band better known as ""Friends of Bob and Ernie"".There are some people come into your life for a reason, helping you to grow to become a better person. Everyone who has ever know Paul Bailey, Jr., has been changed... for the better.Paul Jr. would want you to cele-brate and cherish life and your loved ones....Follow his example. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you kindly send a donation in his name to the charity that holds a special place in your heart...He would want it that way.Visitation will be Saturday from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Leak-Memory Chapel.Leak-Memory Chapel Directing
