John Sweeney Obituary

John Sweeney John G. Sweeney, 49, of Conshohocken, PA passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2015 at Keystone House of Wyndmoor. Born in Toledo, Ohio on Feb 9, 1965, John had lived in Conshohocken since 1992, formerly of Ambler, PA. He graduated from LaSalle College High School class of 1983, and he also graduated from Villanova University. John served in the US Marines where he received Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Meritorious Mast, Good Conduct Medal & Certificate of Commendation. He worked as a Plant Engineer with Linde of Merry Hill, PA, where he loved working. John could fix or build anything and was never too busy to help someone. He enjoyed fishing, a good book and a good movie, but most of all, he loved his family, especially his daughters. Survivors include his Wife: Kelli Sweeney of Conshohocken, PA, Daughter: Katie Sweeney of Conshohocken, PA, Daughter: Cara Sweeney of Conshohocken, PA, Mother & Step Father: Suzanne (& Skip) Wilson of Ambler, PA, Father & Step Mom: Daniel (& Sandy) Sweeney of Hatboro, PA, Sister: Beth (& Guy) Keon of Flourtown, PA, Sister: Ann (& Marty) Guay of Bedford, MASS, Sister: Cathy Sweeney of Ambler, PA, Brother: Dan (& Kelly) Sweeney of Willow Grove, PA. Also Survived By Many Nieces & Nephews. His Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday February 12, 2014 at 10:30 AM from the St. Matthew’s RC Church Third & Fayette Streets, Conshohocken Clergy: Fr. J. Thomas Heron officiating. Friends may call on Wednesday Evening from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM & Thursday, Feb 12, 2015 from 9:00 AM to 10:00AM at the Moore, Snear & Ruggiero Funeral Home 300 Fayette Street Conshohocken, PA. Interment will be private. Memorial Contributions may be made in his memory to Montgomery County S.P.C.A., 19 East Ridge Pike, Post Office Box 222, Conshohocken, PA 19428-0222 OR Keystone House, 821 Bethlehem Pike, Wyndmoor, PA 19038.

It is with great sadness that Iam writing this message. I grew up in a great world of which the Sweeney family was a very big part.I went to Saint Anthony's Catholic school with Johns oldest sister Ann. John was a great person.I can only hope that all of his family can find peace.Always remember that on his next journey he is an angel watching over each and everyone that he loved.May God bless you all with many memories .

As a sophomore DE I looked up to senior John on LaSalle's football team. He played the game all out with complete abandon and self sacrifice. He was a leader. I'm sure he continued to live life the same way...all out! A model for all of us. My condolences to the family.
