Martha Mills Obituary

Martha Mills Martha Blackwelder Mills of Warner Robbins died Friday, May 7, 2010 after a long illness. Martha Blackwelder Mills was born Feb. 22, 1922 in Mooresville. Mrs. Mills was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years William Kenneth Mills. She was a wonderful wife and mother and was very de-dicated to her family. She lived in Mooresville most of her life and enjoyed her work at Chem-spun Yarns for more than 20 years. She was adventuresome and did her part for World War II by working as a "Rosie the Riveter" in the Savannah ship yard while her future husband fought in Europe with the U.S. Army. Her most loved ende-avor was raising her children, William Davis Mills (Holly) of Center-ville, Ga. and Jeffrey Dale Mills (Cindy) of Mooresville. She also loved and is survived by grandaughter, Melody Mills and brother, Willi-amson Dee Blackwelder. She loved attending and working in her church during her heal-thy years. She was a member of Berea Baptist Church of Moores-ville for 53 years. Her passion for love and life will be long remember-ed by her family and friends. Graveside services were held at Berea Baptist Church in Moores-ville Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Dan Freeman officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested do-nations to Samaritan's Purse or to Berea Baptist Church.

I remember your mom as a truly lovely and genuine woman. I'm sorry you won't have her physical presence with you now, but I'm sure you will feel her near you in so many ways.
Knowing that she is in the arms of our Father is the best comfort of all.
