Sara Madeleen Helms Templeton MOORESVILLE Sara Madeleen Helms Templeton, of Moores-ville, died Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012, at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center. She was born Sept. 21, 1931, to the late Ernest and Velma Helms. Mrs. Templeton was predeceased by her husband of 42 years, Frank Templeton; four brothers, James William (Jimmy) Helms, Gilmer Eugene Helms, Harry Roger Helms, and Ray Lewis Helms; and one sister, Katie Lou Bustle. She is survived by her son, Alan Wayne Templeton and wife, Louise, of Bunn Level; three daughters, Constance Elaine (Connie) Templeton Vincent, of Denver, N.C., Velma Joyce (Cissy) Templeton Willis and husband, Gene, of Mooresville, and Cynthia Ann Templeton Bryson and husband, Steve, of Mooresville; two brothers, Joe Ben Helms and Earnest Lee Helms; and one sister, Elizabeth MaryAnn Helms Smith. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Chadwick Garrett Bowles, of Raleigh, Joshua Franklin Michael Willis, Jordan Blake Willis, Stevie Tristina Trista Bryson, and Hannah Camille Cami Bryson, all of Mooresville. Mrs. Templeton was an active member of Grace Fellowship Church (formerly Cascade Baptist) in Mooresville for 52 years. She served as the church clerk for many years, was a Sunday school teacher, worked in vacation Bible school, served on the hospitality committee, and administered the church flower fund for a number of years. Mrs. Templeton was retired from Superba Print Works in Mooresville. Her hobbies included reading, sewing, listening to Gospel music, and enjoying her five grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Hospice & Palliative Care Iredell County, 150 Fairview Rd., Suite 325, Mooresville, NC 28117. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. today (Sunday, Oct. 28), at Glenwood Memorial Park in Mooresville. The family will receive friends following the service. Neill Funeral Home of Mooresville is serving the family.
