Linda. Martin Obituary
Mrs. Martin was born in Lorain on September 13, 1943, the daughter of the late Clayton A. Bruhn and Jean E. (nee Hunter) Reed. Mrs. Martin was a graduate of Marion L.Steele High School, class of 1961, and of St. Joseph School of Nursing, class of 1963. She was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lorain.
She worked as an LPN at Amherst Hospital for 42 years until her retirement in 2009. She enjoyed quilting, traveling, arts and crafts. She was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lorain.
Mrs. Martin is survived by her husband of 47 years John Martin, daughter Barbra Martin, of Lakewood, brothers; Michael (Sue Ellen) Bruhn of Vermilion and Tommy Bruhn of Avon.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Clayton "Chip" Bruhn and a sister, Sandra Bruhn.
Memorial Services will be on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 603 Washington Ave., Lorain at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Jimmy Madsen, pastor, officiating.
The Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home for Funerals, 1124 West 5th Street, Lorain is handling the arrangements.
The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to the New Life Hospice, c/o Mercy Foundation, 3700 Kolbe Road, Lorain, OH 44053

I am so sorry to read of Linda's passing. Don and I both worked with Linda at Amherst Hospital and both knew she was a joy to work with- and that says a LOT coming from Don! You are all in our thoughts and prayers.

I had the pleasure of meeting and working with Linda at Amherst Hospital. She was kind and compassionate to all of us. Linda was a classy lady. I am sorry for the loss you are feeling now. May your memories with Linda keep you strong and help you heal. God bless.

John and Family , My deepest sympathy. Linda and I worked for many years at Amherst I am a fellow crafter also and sometimes we were at the same craft shows I held the ones at Amherst Hospital that Linda Attended. My very special friend who was my "Sister" for many many years. My memories of Linda and all the crazy wonderful things with had done in our 50 years of friendship will never be forgotten! She was a wonderful wife and mother to Barbra her only daughter. She was also a very awesome caring professional nurse to perfection. I am so grateful I was there with her when she went to live with the angels in heaven. I'll miss you and I promised you I would be there for Barb and you know we always kept our promises!
