Nancy Kay Gonzalez

Nancy Kay Gonzalez (nee Bain) 74, passed away on Thursday, July 20, 2023 at Main Street Care Center, a caring skilled nursing facility in Avon Lake, after a lengthy illness. Nancy was born on February 25, 1949 in Morganton WV to Raymond and Ruby Bain. She was the middle of three loving sisters. Nancy loved the Arts, and applied her love of the Arts to everything she did â€" from decorating her home to her skills at cooking and baking, and her love of working with her hands. After leaving high school, Nancy started a family and worked as a talented seamstress for many years before she eventually went back to school and graduated with a nursing degree. Nancy spent many years taking care of others after obtaining her license, and we are proud of everything she achieved. Nancy will be remembered for many things; she was a God-fearing person â€" kind and generous to a fault, with a fiery sassiness, quick wit, and a deep love for Scrabble, her sisters, her children, and her grandchildren. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, and she is survived by her three loving children: Joseph Anthony Gonzalez of Elyria, Jamie Rae Gonzalez Robinson (Cedric) of Strongsville, Ryan Gonzalez (Bridget) of Amherst; beloved grandchildren, Jessica A., Zachary J., Emily E., Ryan A., Lucas J., Aubrey N., and devoted sisters, Sharon Hunady and Kathryn German.Visitation and memorial services will be held Wednesday, July 26, 2023 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Wyers-Bollinger Funeral Chapel, 2900 N. Ridge Road, Elyria. Burial will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, 44805 N. Ridge Road, Amherst.
