Mary Griffin Obituary

Mary L. Griffin
Born: May 5, 1941 in Aurora, IL
Died: July 13, 2022 in Morris, IL
Mary L. Griffin of Morris, IL passed away on July 13th, 2022 at age 81 years.
Mary's death was preceded by beloved husband, David Griffin and her parents, Mae and Jerry Egermaier. She is survived by her brother, Jerry Egermaier (Gloria), as well as her two children, Brian Griffin (Gina Miller) and her daughter, Tina Smrekar (Mark). She was the devoted grandmother to 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Mary was born in Aurora, IL and she grew up on a small farm in Naperville, surrounded by an extended, close and loving family of aunts, uncles and cousins who frequently worked their garden together and celebrated family.
Throughout her marriage to Dave, a career Navy NCO, Mary traveled while raising her two children and becoming a valued friend to other navy wives. This tradition of growing and supporting family energized her throughout her years. Her legacy of cherishing her circle of family and friends will be faithfully upheld by all those that keep her special memory close to their hearts.
Services will be at Lincoln National Cemetery on Sept. 02, 2022, at 11:00 AM. She will be interred with her husband, David T. Griffin.
