Donald Lubbers Obituary
A private memorial will be held at a later date. Caring for Donald and his family is the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls, MN.
Donald was born on November 22, 1964, in Little Falls, MN, to the late Herman and Alice (Bonnevier) Lubbers. In 1983, he graduated from Little Falls Community High School and married the love of his life, Sandra Dee Slettom, in their hometown. Donald dedicated many years to working at Larson Boats, starting his career by grinding fiberglass boats. Through hard work and determination, he later retired from Larson Boats as a Customer Service Supervisor. Donald enjoyed cutting firewood, four-wheeling, hunting, fishing, games, and traveling with family all over the country. He had a brilliant mind and skilled hands for creating inventions to solve any problem large or small. Donald was always thinking about how to make things work better or more efficiently. He also enjoyed woodworking and built things to the highest standard of craftsmanship. Donald would go out of his way to help those who needed it, no matter the time of day.
Donald is survived by his wife, Sandy; his daughters, Nicole Fure of Little Falls, MN, Heather (Dan) Kelm of Baxter, MN, Ashley (Matthew) Storck of Browerville, MN, and Kayla (Holly) Leisenheimer of St. Cloud, MN; his son, Spencer (Rikkia) Lubbers of Little Falls, MN; and his 11 grandchildren, Lily, Frank, Jackson, and Charlie (Fure), Corgan, Oliver, and Lydia (Kelm), Trapper, Arthur, and Graham (Storck), and Ellie (Lubbers); his brother, David (Sue) Lubbers; sisters, Lois (Herman) Werkman and Connie (Brian) Opatz. He also leaves behind many more cherished family members and friends.
Donald was preceded in death by his sister, Lori Reinhart and his parents, Herman and Alice Lubbers.
Donald was passionate about many things, but nothing more than his beloved wife, Sandra Dee. He never gave up on life and wanted nothing more than to be with her.
