Charles Davis Obituary

Charles Augustus Davis III, passed away January 26, 2021 in Lakeway, Texas. He was raised in Washington State, worked in aviation in Fairbanks and Juneau, Alaska, and was a longtime Texas resident, working in Midland for 35 years and retiring to Wimberley. Born in Seattle, Washington in 1946 "Chuck" Davis was a well known and respected pilot and a businessman for more than forty years. Following military service in the Air Force Reserves, his early career as an airline pilot began in Fairbanks, Alaska with Wien Consolidated Airlines. He flew for S&M Air Taxi, in Juneau, Alaska, Harbor Airlines in Oak Harbor, Washington, and as a corporate pilot for Abbott Building Company in Midland, Texas. Also in Midland, he was the general manager of Rich Air Company, and then the Owner Operator of United Snack Group, along with his wife Patsy. They both continued to work together as Managers of Boulevard Park Place Retirement Community in Burien, Washington. A 1964 graduate of Highline High School in Burien, Washington, Chuck was a letterman participating in one of the state's leading wrestling teams. He also received God and Country, equivalent to the Eagle, in the Boy Scouts of America. He studied Aviation Business at Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant, Oklahoma and received his Associate of Science/Sonography from Midland College. Chuck and Patsy Ann were married in 1978 and had 43 happy years of family, faith and work together. They enjoyed following their son, Charles Augustus Davis IV (Cad) of Aledo, Texas, successes in high school and college football, and later in Texas rodeos. Chuck also enjoyed following the successful lives of his daughters, Natalie Copeland of Sand Springs, Oklahoma, her husband Alan and their talented sons Andy and Paul. His younger daughter Jennifer Remington, her husband Duke and their sons Gunnar and Jack, residents of Paradise, Texas, were a great source of joy. He considered his sister-in-law Lynn Cox and her three beautiful daughters Ashley, Danielle and Elizabeth as part of his immediate family. He is also survived by a sister Nancy Hollenbeck, (Cliff) of Lindale, Texas and younger brother Gerald Davis, (Melissa) of Bumping Lake, Washington. He loved all his family dearly. Chuck and Patsy retired to Wimberley, Texas in 2018. He was a member of the Wimberley Church of Christ. As a strong Christian man who loved the Lord, he has gone home to be with God and his adoring parents. He will be laid to rest in Wimberley. In honor of Charles A. Davis III, the family welcomes donations to Baylor Scott & White, ICU Department, 100 Medical Parkway, Lakeway, Texas, 78738.
