Ramon "Tito" Bustamante Ramon "Tito" R Bustamante, 92 went to his heavenly home on May 23, 2022 at his residence in Midland, Texas. Ramon was born May 16, 1930 in Pecos, Texas to Hinjo & Paz Bustamante. Ramon was raised in Barstow, Texas. He worked on ranches and farms chopping and picking cotton when he was young. Ramon married Socorro Porras on Sept 19,1949 in Pecos, Texas. They celebrated 72 years together. They moved to Midland, Texas in 1952 and he went to work for South Texas Construction which was later bought out by Reese Albert Construction. He worked there for over 50 years. He worked there building Interstate 20 overpass bridges from Odessa, Texas to Colorado City, Texas among other projects. There are many streets in Midland that have his name input into the concrete for the work he did putting them in. He retired as a supervisor. He is now in heaven building roads with his old working buddies. He enjoyed listening to music, dancing, watching western movies, the Texas Rangers baseball team and watering his many plants. He had a green thumb and could grow anything. Ramon and Socorro always had an open door for family and friends and never turned anyone away. Ramon was a member of the Holy Name Society and an usher at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. And last but not least, Tito always like to recite the Spanish vowels - (A, E, I, O, U) which his family loved to laugh about. At family gatherings after the blessing of the meal, Tito was asked what time it was and he always replied "Let's Eat". In addition to his parents he was proceeded in death by his brothers, Manuel Bustamante, George Bustamante, Reyes Bustamante, & Ralph Bustamante. And sisters, Lupe Bustamante Vasquez & Maria Bustamante Verdoza, son-in-law Joe Ramos, granddaughter Kelsey Warner Bustamante and grandson Christopher John Bustamante. He is survived by his wife, Socorro, his son's Ruben Bustamante (Dana), Roy Bustamante (Teresa), Raul Bustamante (Teri), all of Midland, Texas and daughter Romelia Bustamante Ramos of Abilene. Texas. 13 Grandchildren, 26 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Grandchild, sister-in-law's Anita Bustamante & Sylvia Bustamante, many nieces and nephews. Viewing will be Tuesday May 31, 2022 beginning at 9:00 a.m. Rosary will be Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at 7:00 at Lewallen -Garcia- Pipkin Funeral Home in Midland, Texas. Funeral Service Mass will be held at 10:00 on June 1, 2022 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Midland, Texas. Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery, in Midland, Texas with a Reception at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church to follow. Pallbearers are Michael Bustamante, Bryan Bustamante, Matthew Bustamante, Jose Jimenez, Raul Bustamante, Jr, Andrew Bustamante, Michael Jimenez and Alejandro Jimenez. The family would like to express their gratitude towards Dr. Vikram Vadyala, Tammy and Monica for their care through the years and Hospice of Midland, specifically Myra Villa, Adriana Lopez and Shelly Bland.
