Mr. Robert Lee "Bobby" Riggs, 94, of Mount Airy, passed away Saturday afternoon, December 30, 2023, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mr. Riggs was born October 30, 1929, in Surry County, one of four children born to the late Fred L. and Nettie Shelton Riggs. Bobby grew up in the Flat Rock community and graduated from Flat Rock High School. He served our country in the United States Army as a Sergeant First Class during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Pike Electric after more than 30 years of service and was a faithful member of Flat Rock Baptist Church. Additionally, Bobby was a founding member of Four Way Volunteer Fire Department. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Pat Gammons Riggs; a daughter, Charlotte Keiger; a granddaughter, Anna Lee Keiger; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Riggs was preceded in death by a sister, Ruby Riggs Hiatt; and two brothers, Roy Roscoe Riggs and Roger William Riggs, Sr. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Skyline Memory Gardens, with Dr. Jon Cawley officiating. At the conclusion of the service, military rites will be conducted by the VFW Memorial Honor Guard. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 12:30 until 1:30 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Flat Rock Baptist Church, P.O.
