Mr. Ronald Dean Creed, 60, of Mount Airy, passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at his home after an extended illness. He was born in Surry County on October 30, 1954 to the late Fermon and Thelma Moser Creed. Mr. Creed was previously employed as Manager of Commercial Building with Fortis Inc., and was an avid hunter. He enjoyed spending time with his family, his Hope Fellowship Church family, and volunteering with the White Plains Ruitan Club. Surviving are his sister, Kay Creed of Mount Airy; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Hilton and Barbara Creed of Mount Airy, Buddy and Lynda Creed of Dunn; two nieces and spouses, Melessa and Tim Hawks of Dobson, Sharon and Chad Marion of Mount Airy; two nephews and spouses, Chris and Rebecca Creed of Jacksonville, FL, Clint and Amy Creed of Coats, NC; great nieces and nephews, Logan and Lucas Hawks of Dobson, Karlie and Evan Marion of Mount Airy, Gray and Alice Creed of Jacksonville, FL, and Savannah and Seth Creed of Coats, as well as several special aunts, uncles, and cousins. Visitation for Mr. Creed will be held Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 4, 2015 at 2:00 PM in the Moody Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Terry Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Union Hill Friends Meeting Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Hope Fellowship Church, c/o Jessie Brooks, 350 West Pine St., Mount Airy, NC 27030 or to White Plains Ruitan Club, c/o Garnett Beasley, 1626 Old Hwy 601, Mount Airy, NC 27030.
