BUTTE - Dorothy Ida Munro passed away peacefully at her home in Butte on Thursday, January 18, 2024. She was born in Butte Saturday, August 12, 1933 to William Arthur and Ruth (Warren) Curnow. She attended the Whittier School in Butte before the family relocated to Whitehall where she graduated from high school.

Dorothy worked as a switchboard operator in Whitehall until her marriage to Frank Harris Munro in Whitehall on January 25, 1953. The coupled moved to Butte in 1968 where they raised their three children.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband Frank who passed away December 30, 2012, her parents, and her sisters: Joyce Curnow, Lois Lutey, Virginia DiLulo and Eunice Gunnell.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Glen and Mika Munro of Las Vegas, NV, daughter: Karen Henningsen and daughter and son-in-law, Vicky and Jay Rogers all of Butte, former son-in-law, Rick Henningsen also of Butte, grandchildren: Kristopher Henningsen and Molly Richards and their children Aleah and Easton all of Butte, Karla and Larry McHugh and their children Colin and Luke also of Butte, Taylor Munro of Hawaii and Patrick Huish of Utah and Benjamin Suttey of Texas. Also surviving are her, sister, Arlene Levengood, brother-in-law, Jim Lutey and numerous nieces and nephews.

Dorothy's remains are in Wayrynen-Richards Funeral Home where friends may call Wednesday evening beginning at 5 PM. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 12 noon in the funeral home and interment will be in Mount Moriah Cemetery. A reception will follow in Wayrynen-Richards Community Center.
