ANACONDA - Robert "Bob" Joseph Smith died peacefully at his home on Jan. 3, 2008.
He was born five minutes after his twin brother, Keith, in Anaconda on Aug. 28, 1964, to Sharon and the late William "Bill" Smith.
He graduated from Anaconda High School in 1983. He then attended Butte Vo-Tech and finished with a drafting degree in 1985. He previously worked for AWARE and the Montana State Prison. He was an avid sports fan. His favorite team was the Pittsburgh Steelers.
In a previous marriage, he was blessed with two children, Kaila and Cory. On Sept. 18, 2007, his first and only grandson, Connor, arrived. All three were his pride and joy. His best time was spent with them.
Sharon, his mother and friend, was his guardian angel with whom he spent many hours. Not a day went by that he didn't tell her he loved her.
He was preceded in death by his father; grandparents, Rudy and Bernice Kovacich and Marvin and Agatha Funston; uncles, Keith Smith and Jim Calnan Sr.; and cousin, Jim Calnan Jr.
He is survived by his mother, Sharon; two children, Kaila and Cory; grandson, Connor; brother, Keith, and sister-in-law, Sally; sister, Tammy, and brother-in-law, Jerry Lussy; sister, Holly, and brother-in-law, Bryan "Buzz" Fulcher; nieces, Jana Lussy, Brooke and Brittany Smith and Kenzie Reisenauer; nephews, Marcus Lussy, Matt and Bryant Smith, Chase Reisenauer and Logan and Lakota Fulcher; along with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins, including his cousin, Adam Smith, with whom he was very close.
He will be sadly missed by his family and friends, but he loved the Lord and we know he is at peace with him now.
A Service of remembrance will be held Wednesday, Jan. 9, at 3 p.m. at KT Riddle Funeral Home.
Service and cremation arrangements are under the care of KT Riddle Funeral Home.

My Prayers Go Out To Bob And His Family. Smitty Was A Good Guy. When I Was In Anaconda Visiting Relatives In July 07, Bob Was One Of The First People I Ran Into. And Since We Graduated Together In 1983, I Think We Just Stood And Talked For Like 1 Hour. I Tell Ya One Thing Bob Had A Big Heart And Would Give You The Shirt Off His Back. He's With Our Heavenly Father Now In A Great Place.

To the Smith Family,
I remember Bob when we were young and having beebee gun wars up behind Nazers. We were always mechanicing on bicycles, going to the dumps or "stealing" parts we needed for the bikes. I even called Sharon "Mom" and especially liked her when she would give me haircuts. I am so sorry to hear about your family's loss and want to express my sympathy to your families...Our Heavenly Father hears our prayers and gives his comfort to his children. I hope you can feel his loving arms around you in your time of need.

To Tammy and your family,
Terri had called me about your brother Bob, and I was so sorry to hear of his death at such a young age. The loss of a loved one is so hard to bear at any age.
Be assured that he is now finally at peace and in a better place. Take care.

I'm so sorry to hear of Bob's death. Please be comforted in knowing that he is with the Lord now and will only know love and peace from now on. He was such a sweetie! I met Bob a long time ago, and he had such a nice smile! Please take comfort in each other and in the support of your friends and family during this challenging time. We go through some pretty tough times on this earth and we wonder where God is, but he is here with you now to bear your burdens and sorrow. I've been praying for all of you since I heard of Bob's death a couple of days ago. God understands our very human condition. Bob's in His gentle hands now, and you'll all join him later. Don't be afraid to lean on your friends for support, as I'm sure they all understand. I guess we all go through this from time to time during our lives.
With much love and sympathy,
Jeff and Sandy (Frigaard) Pack
