Doris Reynolds Obituary

Reynolds, Doris 8/5/1925 - 10/7/2016 Muskegon Doris Marion Reynolds was born and raised in New Era, Michigan to Forrest and Opal Dunham. She attended Muskegon Business College where she met and married the love of her life, Kenneth Reynolds. Doris worked as a bookkeeper for Seaway Appliance Center while raising 3 children. After the children were grown, Doris and Ken moved to Cleveland, Cincinnati and then finally Florida. All her life, Doris explored her creative side with poetry, needle arts, and watercolors. One of Doris' greatest joys was giving away her treasured creations to loved ones. Her favorite pastimes included cooking, playing card games and golf. Doris' loved ones who passed before her include: husband Ken Reynolds, beloved son David Reynolds, her parents, brothers: Paul, Lloyd and Mac Dunham. The following family members will miss her dearly: children: Dee Reynolds (Bud Pierce), Daniel Reynolds (Marie), daughter-in-law: Valerie Reynolds, grandchildren: Jason Wimbush (Jennifer), Molly Carmer (Jay), Christina DeForest, Rebecca Kopczyk (Ken), Nickolas Reynolds, and Kayla Reynolds (Brian), plus 7 great grandchildren. There will be a private gathering of the family in Doris' honor. Feel free to share a memory with the family at www.dignitymemorial.com. On behalf of Doris, the family would especially like to thank the excellent staff at Sanctuary at the Oaks as well as Harbor Hospice for their services. Since Doris lived for over six years at the Oaks, donations may be made in her memory to the activity fund at Sanctuary at the Oaks' Mercy Garden, 1740 Village Drive, Muskegon, MI. 49442.

I'll miss my Aunt Doris. Our prayers are with the family that God will provide comfort during this time of great loss. I'll always remember the enjoyable things they would talk about when we had the chance to spend some time with her as well as Uncle Ken. Looking back when I was a kid, that talking and sitting around seemed like it would go on forever, but now that time is gone, yet we still have the memories.

Dan and Marie--
Our prayers are with you in this difficult time. No matter how old we get, it is never easy losing a parent.

I remember in my early years, we so enjoyed our trips to visit family in Michigan. We stayed with Aunt Doris and Uncle Ken when Mom was ill. Uncle Ken tucked us in and told us the poem about the beddie bugs. Aunt Doris took me to my first movie at a theatre, the scary Snow White!

Wayne and I really enjoyed our visits with Aunt Doris and Uncle Ken after they moved to Florida. We spent most Thanksgivings together and Uncle Ken would always be willing to cut the turkey.

Aunt Doris' home was always so warm and welcoming. She had her beautiful needlepoint and water colors displayed so well. Aunt Doris also was generous with her artwork. Doris would whip up a meal in no time, and it was really good. Always plenty of snacks and sweets.

I will fondly remember our visits.
