Robert Loomis Obituary

Loomis, Robert W. Sr. Muskegon Mr. Robert Wayne Loomis Sr., age 88, passed away at his home on Sunday, January 22, 2023. He was born in Muskegon on October 30, 1934 to Armond and Viola (Westerhoff) Loomis. Bob was a veteran of the United States Air Force, had worked for the local Carpenters Unions, and was employed by Teledyne Continental Motors for 34 years prior to his retirement. Bob also served as the President of Service One Credit Union for several years. He was a former member of Fifth Reformed Church, Central Assembly of God, and Calvary Baptist Church where he had served as elder, deacon, and was a Sunday School and Youth Group leader. He was a talented builder, having built seven homes for his family, and he passed his knowledge along to his children. Bob enjoyed hunting, card games, puzzles, occasional trips to the casino, and most importantly, his family. On December 8, 1956, Bob married the former Carol DeWolf and she survives him along with their five children, Robert (Deborah) Loomis Jr., Rebbecca (Brad) Heath, Dona Martin, Callie (Mark) Hecksel, and Charles (Tonda) Loomis; 25 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; three siblings; and many loving in-laws. He was preceded in death by his parents and five siblings. SERVICES for Bob will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, January 26, 2023 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444 with Rev. Terry Fulk officiating. VISITATION will be one hour prior to his service. MEMORIALS in memory of Bob may be directed to Life Circles or Senior Resources. You may sign his online guestbook at www.sytsemafh.com
