David Jackson Obituary
AGE: 73 • Cranbury
David O. Jackson, age 73, passed away July 12, 2017 at home. Born in Princeton, NJ and lived in Cranbury, NJ. He was a graduate of Princeton High School and Thomas Edison State College.
David is a retired Police Detective Sergeant. He has 40 years of total Police Service, with 13 years in the Middlesex County Sherriff's Department, and 27 years in the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office. He worked Pro Active Streets his entire career, turning down promotions so he could remain working the streets. Mr. Jackson compiled over 5,000 street arrests. During his career, he was on loan to the US Marshals Service for a period of time during the 80s and 90s and he worked closely with the NJ State Police for several years. He worked several times with the FBI, DEA, ATF, and Secret Service. Mr. Jackson was the first detective to get a UFAP warrant for the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office in 1986. He was the first Middlesex County Detective to contact Interpol for an International arrest.
David was a member of Calvary Chapel Crossfields Church, Jamesburg, NJ; and a member of PBA Local 600.
Predeceased in death by his Mother and Father: Annie Jackson and David Jackson, Sr.; Brother, John Williams; Sister, Eloise Conover; Daughter, Samantha Jackson; and Son, Robert G. Highsmith, Sr.
David is survived by a Brother, James Jackson; Daughter, Debra Quinn McRae (John McRae); Daughter, Kimberly A. Ferguson (Dewey A. Ferguson, III); Daughter-in-Law, Etoria Highsmith; Grandchildren, Ayana Ferguson, Jordan McRae, Kaci Ferguson, Latoria Highsmith, Robert Highsmith, Jr., and Travion Highsmith; Special Friend, Raja Balech; and a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be 11 AM Wed July 19, 2017 at Calvary Chapel Crossfields, 15 Half Acre Road, Jamesburg, NJ 08831. Calling hours will be 9 AM until time of service at the church. Interment Brainerd Cemetery Cranbury, NJ. Arrangements are by the Hughes Funeral Home Trenton, NJ.
