Deanna Shamy Obituary
North Brunswick - Ms. Deanna Shamy passed away on Tuesday November 28, 2017 at her home in North Brunswick at the age of 32.
She was born in New Brunswick and was a lifetime resident of North Brunswick. She graduated from North Brunswick High School and continued her education at Rutgers University where she obtained a Bachelor's of Science in Biological Science and Psychology.
Deanna loved animals, especially horses. She started horseback riding at a young age and became so accomplished that she was named the New Jersey Equestrian Association Child Rider of the Year in 2000. She loved spending time with all of her family and her best friend Jonny Brown and her loyal puggle Frankie. Ms. Shamy was pre deceased by her grandfathers George Shamy Sr. in 2001 and Robert Largess in 1979.
She is survived by her parents George Shamy Jr. and Sally Shamy of North Brunswick and her siblings James Shamy and his wife Jennifer of East Windsor, Matthew Shamy of North Brunswick and Luke Shamy also of North Brunswick. She is also survived by grandmothers Esther Shamy of North Brunswick and Helen Largess Crewe of Massachusetts, her nephew Nathan Shamy and nieces Vivienne Shamy and Ella Shamy along with many aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family.
Visiting will take place on Monday December 4, 2017 from 4-8 PM at the Gleason Funeral Home 1360 Hamilton Street in Somerset. Funeral services will begin on Tuesday December 5, 2017 at 9:15 AM at the Gleason Funeral Home followed by a 10 AM funeral mass at Our Lady of Peace R.C. Church in North Brunswick. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Piscataway.
