Dorothy Giordano Obituary
Lakewood - Dorothy Giordano, 84 of Lakewood passed away on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at her home.
Born in Perth Amboy, Dorothy resided in Carteret before settling in Woodbridge where she raised her family. Most recently, Dorothy was a longtime resident of Lakewood. She was employed as a secretary with the Woodbridge Township Board of Education before retiring to be a homemaker for her beloved family. A true patriarch, Dorothy was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to all who knew and loved her. Dorothy will be remembered as a loving Spiritual Christian Leader. She was a a former parishioner of St. James R.C. Church in Woodbridge and an active member of the First Baptist Church of Laurelton.
Dorothy was predeceased by her husband of 37 years, Thomas Giordano, Sr. Surviving are her children, Janet Servis and her husband Robert, Karen Evangelista, Thomas Giordano, Jr. and his wife Erin. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Dara Servis-Melander and her husband Kyle, Bobby Servis, Jayson Evangelista and his wife Lauren, Nicholas Evangelista and his wife Jenell, Thomas Giordano, III. and Justin Giordano; great grandson, Aiden Evangelista; sister, Joan Claus; nephew, Michael Claus; great aunt, Betty Plawischak; uncle, Frank Keleman and his wife Susan along with many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
A 10:30am Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 8, 2021 at St. James R.C. Church in Woodbridge. A private entombment will follow at Woodbridge Memorial Gardens. Due to Covid restrictions, a celebration of Dorothy's life will be planned for family and friends at a later date. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to GERITY & CHUBENKO FUNERAL HOME, 411 Amboy Avenue, Woodbridge, NJ 07095.
