Dr. Harold Frankiln Ed.D

Watchung

Dr. Harold Frankiln Ed.D passed Jan. 4, 2013 at Overlook Medical Center in Summit. Born in Lakeland, Florida. He resided in Watchung 40yrs., formerly of N. Plainfield. Dr. Franklin was a member of the Community Baptist Church of No. Plainfield and a former member of the Trinity Missionary Baptist church and a decon at St. John's Baptist Church in Scotch Plains. He was employed as principal of the Orange high School and as administrator at Coed Vocational and Technical School of Newark. A 2nd Lt. in the Us Army he was later promoted to major and served in the National Guard. He was a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc., Epsilon Pi Tau, NEA and the Watchung Optimists Club.

He is survived by his wife of 55 yrs Sylvia Franklin, daughters Cheryl Darlene McGaw, Sharon Franklin(Calvin Mims), Sonya Johnson(Calvin), Valerie Jones(Thomas), 10 grandchildren, 5 Gr. grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday 10 Am at the Eternal Life Christian center 322 Franklin Blvd., Somerset, Visitation will be held Saturday 9- 10 Am at the church. In Lieu of flowers please make donations to the Park with a purpose Inc. 709 Pittman Dr., Union Springs, Alabama, 36089. Arrangements by Judkins Colonial Home.
