MARK D. HICKS
AGE: 48 POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y.
Mark D. Hicks, 48, of Poughkeepsie, N.Y. died on Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2009, at home. He was born in Plainfield, and he was a resident of Poughkeepsie for the past five years. He was formerly a member of the Shiloh Baptist Church in Plainfield. He was employed as a chemical dependency counselor at Project Moore Transitional Rehab Housing and also for the Salvation Army, both of Poughkeepsie, N.Y.
He was predeceased by his parents, Ernest "Poppa Jack" and Shirley Mae Hicks; brothers, Ernest, Harry, and Charles Hicks; and his sister, Katie Hicks. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Hicks; his son, Marquis Relf of Plainfield; his daughters, Cadisha and Kamorah Mills of Plainfield, and Destiny and Nyia Gordon of Maxton, N.C.; his stepdaughter, Tonyeta Chalk of Calif.; his brothers, Wayne and Alimeen Andre Hicks; his sister, Venitta Hicks; and his special friends, Avon and Danny of Plainfield, and Spencer Jackson of Poughkeepsie.
Visitation will be held on Monday, Feb. 16, 2009, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Calvary Baptist Church. Funeral Services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, 324 Monroe Ave., Plainfield. Funeral arrangements by Judkins Colonial Home of Plainfield.

My deepest condolences goes out to the entire Hicks family, and may God give your family comfort and peace in these trying times. I lived on West 4th street across from the Hicks family for several years. Mark will truly be missed.
