Robert Abecker Obituary
EAST BRUNSWICK - ROBERT M. ABECKER Sr. died on Thursday, December 10, 2020, at his home. He was 86.
Born in New Brunswick, he resided there until moving to East Brunswick in 1962.
Prior to retiring in 1996, he worked at Bristol-Myers Squibb, New Brunswick, for 20 years.
Robert had been a Communicant of St. Bartholomew R.C. Church, East Brunswick, since 1962.
He was predeceased by his wife, Sophie (née Parks), in 2003, and siblings Marion, Joseph and Richard.
Surviving are his five children: daughters, Deborah Skomba and her husband, Michael, of Branchburg, and Cynthia Abecker of Manahawkin, and sons, Robert Abecker Jr. of Manahawkin, Michael Abecker of Jackson and Steven Abecker and his fiancée, Diane, of East Brunswick. Also surviving are his sister, Anna Abecker, of Edison; his companion, Jacqueline Smith of Skillman; six grandchildren, Danielle (James), Michael (Heather), Christina, James (Kelsy), Steven Robert (Taylor) and Amanda; four great grandsons, Elliot, Asher, August, Cooper and great granddaughter, Reese, with a great granddaughter on the way.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, 12/14, at 8:45 AM, at The BRUNSWICK MEMORIAL HOME, 454 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick, followed by a 9:30 AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Bartholomew Church, East Brunswick. Burial will be private.
Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Sunday, from 2-6 PM. For directions, please visit www.brunswickmemorialhome.com
