Robert Kopcho Obituary
AGE: 85 • Matawan
Robert M Kopcho, (Chopper) 85 of Aberdeen, NJ passed away on Monday April 18, 2016 at Jersey Shore Medical Center.
Born in Perth Amboy, NJ, Robert resided in Sewaren, NJ before moving to Aberdeen in 1959.
Robert was an Exempt, Life Member, Lieutenant, of Matawan Hook and Ladder Fire Company #1. He enjoyed long rides in his truck down to the river listening to Polka Music. He was a NY Yankee and NY Giants fan. Robert was retired from U.S. Metals in Carteret and also the Marlboro Township Board of Education. Robert will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Bernice (Sadowski) of Aberdeen; a son Robert Kopcho Jr., Matawan; two daughters, Lorna Jean Kopcho, Matawan; Deborah Borden and Son-In-Law John Borden, Marlboro. Also a nephew, Michael Gallagher, Florida. His biggest joy in life were his grandsons Brian Borden of Covington, GA, and Timothy Borden Marlboro, NJ.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit the Waitt Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 501 Highway 79, Morganville, NJ 07751, on Tuesday April 26, 2016 from 4-8pm. A family gathering will be held on Wednesday April 27, 2016 from 10 - 11am at the Funeral Home followed by interment in the Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veteran Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Roberts name to the Matawan Hook and Ladder Company, C/O James Duffy Sr., 62 Ravine Drive, Matawan, NJ 07747. Dear Bernice and Family - So very sad to hear of (Little Chop Chops ) passing. He was a true Sewaren family member. I will miss his phone calls with the up-dates on our little town! Rest in peace dear gentle man!
