Ronald Wisniewski Obituary

Ronald S. Wisniewski, Sr.

AGE: 72 • Toms River

It is with heavy hearts that we announce that Ronald S. Wisniewski Sr. of Toms River, NJ (formerly of East Brunswick) passed away suddenly at home early Wednesday morning, Dec. 4, 2013 at the age of 72. Ron was currently super excited about the Christmas season being upon us as he had been a successful Christmas tree seller for 53 years. This was his most favorite time of the year, and he was often heard wishing others a "Merry Christmas" all throughout the year.

Ron was born in New Brunswick, NJ on July 8, 1941 to Helen and Stephen Wisniewski and was raised in East Brunswick and attended South River HS before meeting the love of his life, Carol Ann (nee Woronowicz) and then raising their own family in East Brunswick as well. Ron and his brother, Robert, owned and operated a Stewarts Rootbeer on Rte. 18. Ron was also involved in numerous entrepreneurial adventures, including the Christmas Tree Business "Uncle Ronnie's Christmas Trees", and was also an organizer of many fundraising festivals and fairs for various organizations. One of the greatest joys of Ron's life was chairing the Annual Daisy Fair in East Brunswick, which was held to raise funds for Camp Daisy in East Brunswick. In addition to the Daisy Fair, Ron also organized many other successful events to raise money for various charities, and he loved how the carnival atmosphere brought smiles to the faces of children.

Ron was a former communicant of St. Bartholomew Church in East Brunswick, and was most recently a member of St. Joseph's Parish, Toms River, NJ. Ron often attended daily Mass at St. Catharine's in Seaside Park as well.

Ron enjoyed crabbing at the fishing docks and on his beloved kayak, and riding his bike around the shore. Ron was a regular at The Park Bakery in Seaside Park and was known for his love of crumb buns which he affectionately shared with his grandchildren. Prior to his special son, Kris' death in 2010, Ron and Kris would often embark on many adventures and would be gone for hours on end.

Ron is survived by his loving wife, Carol Ann, of 51 years, his son, Ronald S. Wisniewski Jr. and his wife, Kelli of Mesa, Arizona, his daughter, Colleen M. Patton and her husband, Craig of Moorestown, NJ, and his son, Jamie Christian, of Manasquan. Ron is also survived by his biggest fans, his seven grandchildren, Ryan, Allie, Kyle, Tyler, and Sarah Patton of Moorestown, NJ and Brady and Makenzie Wisniewski of Mesa, AZ.

Ron's family takes comfort in knowing that Ron is together again with his special angels, daughter Cheryl Ann, and son, Kris Patrick, his brother, Robert and his parents Helen and Stephen Wisniewski.

Anyone who knew Ron has a story to tell. He made a friend everywhere he went and lived life to the fullest. Please join us and share your stories at the Visitation Friday from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 145 St. Catherine Blvd. Toms River, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, 10am, at St. Joseph RC Church, Toms River. Entombment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Barnegat, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Ocean County Food Bank at foodbankmoc.org or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.ryanfuneralhome.com.

"Carnival Ron" as we knew him, was a great person and made many friends at the Lakewood Elks. The members still ask me about having another carnival. He got me through putting one together in less than six weeks. He made it a fun adventure and we will miss him.

I have so many fond memories of Ronnie all through the years - but especially at this time of year, when he often brought - with his ever-present big smile and his open heart - an evergreen wreath to the library for the door of Channel 8. Condolences to the family. Ronnie will be missed by the whole community!
