Helen Daniels Obituary
She was born in Michigan City on April 6, 1925, to Vernon and Catherine (Markel) Loetz. On May 9, 1942, she married Clarence L. Daniels. He preceded her in death on Sept. 22, 1981.
Helen was a homemaker and had worked at the former Schumacher Electric Co. She was a member of VFW Auxiliary Post #1279 of Rensselaer; VFW Auxiliary Post #717 of Dyer; VFW of St. John; American Legion Post #29 of Rensselaer; and the American Legion Auxiliary Post of Dyer. She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church.
She is survived by four children, Karen Galbreath, John Daniels, Walter Daniels, and Roger (Mary "Mickie") Daniels; daughter-in-law, Theresa Jo Daniels; sister, Rosalee Stingley; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Margaret James; son, George Daniels; infant son, Dale Daniels; son-in-law, Rex James; daughter-in-law, Linda Daniels; seven sisters; and two brothers.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 30 from 10 a.m. until time of funeral at noon at Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer. Father Joshua Bennett officiating.
Interment will be Friday, March 31 at 1 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Memorials may be made to the Rensselaer Care Center or Jasper County Community Services.
