Robert Baustien Obituary



MYRTLE BEACH | Robert John Baustien Jr., age 82, of Island Green, died Wednesday, Mar. 2, 2005 at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center.



Born Mar. 6, 1922 in Scranton, Pa., he was the son of the late Robert John and Florence Doyle Baustien. Mr. Baustien was a U.S. Marine veteran serving in World War II. He had retired from the State of Conn. He was member of the Iwojima Survivors of Conn. and was a basketball coach with the St. Johns Boys Church League in Conn. Mr. Baustien was a member of the VFW Post 10420, American Legion Post 178 and South Strand Marine Corp. He was preceded in the death by a daughter, Barbara Ramus.



Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth Baustien; sons, Robert and Richard Baustien, both of Conn.; daughters, Donna Baustien and Michelle Goldberg, both of Conn.; stepsons, Rev. James Larkin of Indonesia, Dominic Sorgio II of Myrtle Beach, Glenn Sorgio of N.C. and Guy Sorgio of Wis.; stepdaughters, Barbara Cox of Fla. and Dawn Grady of Conn.; 18 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and brother, William Baustien of Ore.



Memorial services will be 10 a.m., Saturday at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel.
