Lucille J. "Lucy" Bromley, 87, of Streator passed away Thursday, October 28, 2021 at Heritage Health Therapy and Senior Care in Streator.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at St. Michael the Archangel Church, Streator. Msgr. Philip Halfacre will officiate.
Visitation will be from 8:30 A.M. until 10:30 A.M. Wednesday at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator. The rosary will be recited at 8:15 A.M.
Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Streator. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons, Robert, Ben, Chris and Trey.
Born October 6, 1934 in DePue she was the daughter of Jesus and Cenaida (Guzman) Pizano. She married Richard L. "Duke" Bromley on July 9, 1956. He preceded her in death on December 29, 2019.
She is survived by daughters, Elizabeth (Steve) Broadus of Streator, Mary Zavada of Streator, Irene (Bill) Sedlock of Streator and Jessica (Michael) Pastirik of Streator; grandchildren, Robert (Janelle) Brown, Taylor (Dan) Burkhead, Marlaina Sedlock, Ben (Abbey) Brown, Olivia (Nate Pahl) Broadus, Bethany (Colton Davis) Brown, Nora Sedlock, Christopher (Corinne) Broadus, Trey Pastirik, Cenaida Sedlock; Lucy Zavada; and Mark Truty; great grandchildren, Stella Soltis, Oliver and Elliot Davis, Parker and Tallan Brown, Benjamin, Dylan and Brooklyn Brown; Emmett and Forrest Burkhead; Lukas and Ana Pastirik; and Carson Truty; sisters, Jessie Solorio of DePue, Carmen (Joe) Heinz of Oglesby and Frances (Pete) Happold of DePue; a brother, David (Sue) Pizano of DePue; many nieces and nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Michelle Mary Bromley; a granddaughter, Chelsea Bromley Davis; sisters, Irene Noonan, Josephine Galindo and Esther Manrriquez; and a brother, Michael Pizano.
Born and raised in DePue she attended DePue grade school and graduated from DePue High School.
She was a member of the former Immaculate Conception Church and currently belonged to St. Michael the Archangel Church.
Lucy worked through the years for Steven's News Agency, Owens Illinois Glass Company and St. Mary's Hospital. She was also active for many years as a Mary Kay Sales Consultant.
She loved going to flea markets and garage sales as some of her main hobbies. She was famous for her homemade tacos enjoyed by her friends and family.
Lucy was dedicated to family and the Lord. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be remembered for her hard work and devotion to her family. She will be dearly missed by her loving family.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to
St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or a
charity of the donor's choice.
