Agnes Kannick, of Bluffton, SC passed away Thursday, January 5, 2023. Arrangements are entrusted to Allen Funeral Home. We welcome you to provide your thoughts and memories on our tribute wall.
Agnes Kannick was born on October 10, 1941, on Spring Island, SC to the late Mariah and Richard Kannick, Sr. On January 5, 2023, the Lord called another angel and she quietly transitioned from her earthly home where the Lord allowed her to fulfill her purpose with grace.
Agnes was educated in the public schools of Beaufort County, and she began her career in the hospitality industry on Hilton Head Island at Adventure Inn and after 40 years of dedicated services and achievements, she retired from Resort Services in Bluffton, SC. She had a passion for reading which included the bible and inspirational books, doing crossword puzzles and word search, journaling, and watching game shows. But most importantly, she had love for cooking and her meals allowed bonding times that her family looked forward to on Sundays and Holidays. She was loved and respected by others and many of her children's friends honored her as their mother.
Agnes was a faithful member of Campbell Chapel AME Church in Bluffton, SC, the church she loved, but above all she loved God. Her love for the church was demonstrated through her involvement and commitment to church school and bible study, and all sponsored church activities and programs. She served on the Board of Trustees, a member of the Women's Missionary Society and the Lay Organization. The service she enjoyed the most was being a doorkeeper. Her faithfulness to the Usher Board allowed her to serve as the President for over 18 years, receiving many accolades.
Agnes was preceded in death by her parents, Mariah and Richard Kannick, Sr., her six siblings. her son Daniel Kannick (Willie Mae), Sr. and Daisy Kannick Williams. She leaves to cherish her memories, her devoted children: Vanessa Tiburcio, Lucille Kannick, Alnetha (James) Bush, and Lincoln Kannick all of Bluffton SC, and Tonya K. (Gregory) Dillard of Tucker, GA; six grandchildren, Evita (Jason) Alston of Savannah, GA, Vanna (David II) Simpson of Orangeburg, SC, Daniel Kannick, Jr., of Ridgeland, SC, Francina Tiburcio, of Bluffton, SC, Gregory Dillard, II of Tucker, SC and Lindsey Kannick, of Summerville, SC, four great grandchildren Gabriel Alston, of Savannah, GA, Mia, David III, and Bella Simpson of Orangeburg, SC; two special nephews: Willie London, Jr. and Jonathan Baker; ten special nieces; three special friends: Delores Anderson, Annie Mae Gadson, and Pauline Tyler; one goddaughter, Shirley Fields; and host of other relatives and friends.
