Jean Leffel Powell, 94, passed away on Tuesday, October 21, 2025.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Hedrick Leffel and Ida May Cox Leffel; husband, Branson Elbert Powell, Sr; grandsons, Jason Philip Powell and Jantzen Wade Powell; siblings, John Richard, Helen Louise, Anna Maragret, Charles Edward, Frank Lomack, Lenver, and Robert Francis Leffel.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Branson "Butch" Elbert Powell, Jr. (Betty), and John William Powell (Josephine); daughter, Anita Jeanine Thomas (Steve); grandchildren, April Martin (Dean), Justin Powell (Marie), Angela Lunsford, and Preston Kidd (Samantha); sisters, Elsie Loraine "Pete" Leffel, Connie Lee Leffel Cronise, and Mary Vivian Leffell Falls; great-grandchildren and numerous "adopted" children and grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00pm on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 3:00pm. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Troutville Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses at 70 Greenfield Street, Daleville, VA 24083.
