Alonzo Perez

That crazy Mexican man came into my life when I was about 10. He brought an infectious laugh and a smile that would light up a room! I've been told my whole life that I'm a hard worker and I always think of him when I hear that. May God smile on this man. I'm grateful for the time he spent with me and my family and I'm thankful for the lessons and the time spent with the Perez family. Sincerely Mike Peckens

I have fond memories of Alonzo. We first met when I was about 6 or 7 yrs. old My Dad was a carpenter who was building a house for a client who owned land on the old highway between Harlingen and San Benito, Tx. The Perez family owned a farm next door. I was playing out there as children do when Alonzo shows up , riding a horse! He recognized me, as his brother Ramiro and my brother Humberto were the best of friends . Yrs. passed and the next time I saw him we were both grown up and he was living in Lansing Mi. I was now 18 yrs. old and looking for a job there.He was so generous he let me stay with his siblings and looked for a job for me. I will never forget his generosity and love. I am now shedding tears just thinking about it. A friend like that you don"t see anymore. my condolences to to his kin and to his friends who the feel his loss the way I do.
