Anthony T. Baratta, 75 of Swedesboro, New Jersey passed away on Monday, January 2, 2023, at Inspira Health at Mullica Hill.
Born Wednesday, May 7, 1947, in Brooklyn, New York, Anthony was the son of the late Anthony and Janet Baratta.
Anthony was raised in the Bensonhurst section of Brooklyn. He was a graduate of New Utrecht High School, where he played football, and wore the number 55, a tradition carried down for generations in his family. Anthony would go on to earn a master's degree from Manhattan College. Anthony had a long career in Information and Cybersecurity. He worked with different financial institutions including Barclays Bank, Dresdner Bank and ISC2 before his retirement.
Anthony would start a family of his own, with the mother of his children, Grace and they raised their children in Staten Island. He reconnected with Phyllis Goodes whom he first met in Junior High school. Anthony relocated to Virginia and married Phyllis. They moved to Florida for several years, but eventually settled in Swedesboro, New Jersey.
Anthony was a musician who enjoyed playing the piano, he was also an avid photographer. Anthony was a big Star Trek fan, and also a NY Sports fan, rooting for his favorite teams the NY football Giants, Yankees, and Rangers. He was a loving and caring man who will be missed by all those that love him.
Anthony is survived by his beloved wife, Phyllis, by his loving children, Anthony Jr. and his wife Marie, Kimberly DeFino and her husband Anthony, by his loving stepchildren, Dan Goodes and his wife Allegra, and Lisa Kelly and her husband Robert, and his cherished grandchildren, Gianna, Anthony, Dominic, John, Christopher, Maggie, Sophie, Ruth, and Michael.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Thursday, January 5, 2023, at Michael Hegarty & John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals and Cremation Service, 3377 US Highway 9, Old Bridge, New Jersey.
A Funeral Mass will take place on Friday morning beginning at 10:30AM at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Old Bridge, NJ.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Abramson Cancer Center at Penn Medicine.org in the name of Anthony T. Baratta
