Arnold L. Verrinder, 72, of Fredon Township, died peacefully at home on Tuesday, June 4, 2013, with his wife, Gloria, by his side after being ill for several years. He was the kindest, gentle and loving person ever known by his loving wife. Born in Dover General Hospital on March 14, 1941, Arnold was the son of the late Mame Nielson and James Verrinder. He lived in Mine Hill, was raised in Richard Mine, then lived in Dover. When he married Gloria Grenier on January 23, 1965, he moved to Fredon Township where he has lived for 26 years. He was a wonderful man and the best husband ever. Arnold went to school in Mt. Hope and graduated from Morris Hills High School. He also went to correspondence school for electrical, plumbing and boiler. He also passed his Real Estate License on his first try. A United States Army veteran, Arnold served in the 32nd Medic Corps during the Viet Nam Era. He was employed RCA, BASF and most recently, The Sussex County Homestead. An avid outdoorsman, Arnold like cars, motorcycle riding, animals and people – he was always a loving and gentle man, even to the end. Arnold is survived by his loving wife of over 48 years, Gloria; one sister; one brother; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. At the request of his wife, cremation services will be private and are under the direction of the Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, 63 High Street, Newton.
