Arthur "Art" Bernstein, of Newark, DE, passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2022.
Arthur was born in Norristown, PA on August 21, 1958. He graduated from Norristown Area High School in 1976.
He enjoyed collecting coins, bowling when he was younger, and family genealogy.
Arthur fought a very long battle with kidney disease. He was blessed with 2 kidney transplants to continue enjoying life with his family. His kidneys unfortunately began to fail and he was unable to continue the battle. He was, however, able to be in his home with his family towards the end of his life.
Arthur is survived by his wife, Deborah (DeMedio) Bernstein; his son, Brian Bernstein; his daughter, Jennifer (Bernstein) Toscano (James); his two granddaughters, Karleigh (13) and Isabella (5) Toscano; his brother, David Bernstein (Wendy); and his sister, Charlotte (Bernstein) Rubach (Robert).
He was predeceased by his parents, Robert Bernstein, Sr. and Rose Madeline (La Voie) Bernstein, and his brother, Robert Bernstein, Jr.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Thursday, December 29th, 2022 from 4pm-6pm at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Rd., Wilmington, DE 19808. A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 30th, 2022 at 11AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter-Day Saints, 500 W. Chestnut Hill Rd., Newark, DE 19713. Interment will be held privately in All Saints Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the Bernstein family requests memorial contributions be made in Art's name to the National Kidney Foundation of Maryland and Delaware, https://www.kidneymd.org/
