Arthur J. Wohlwend

CEDAR FALLS- Arthur J. Wohlwend, 89, of Cedar Falls, died Sunday, Dec. 16, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home. He was born Dec. 2, 1918, in Des Moines, son of Albert and Elizabeth Brady Wohlwend. He married Evelyn L. Kass on Sept. 12, 1948 in Nashua. Mr. Wohlwend served in the United States Army during World War II. He was employed by O'Dea Financial Services of Waterloo, for 40 years. Survivors include: his wife, Evelyn of Cedar Falls; two sons, Steve and Karen Wohlwend of Bettendorf and their children, Michael and Greg and Dave and Shirley Wohlwend of Columbus, Ohio and their children, Kara and Jenna; three brothers, Don of Des Moines, Merle of Indianola and Pat of Missouri; two sisters, Dolly (Esther) Kubli of Indianola and Cleo Viers, also of Indianola; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by: two brothers, Bill and Francis; and four sisters, Ethel Jones, Mabel Phillips, Gladys Carder and Alice Ferguson. Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at First Christian Church, with burial in Fairview Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Richardson Funeral Home. Memorials: may be directed to First Christian Church or Cedar Valley Hospice.
