Arturo Jaramillo better known as "Jam" left this life and stepped over into eternity to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 19, 2024, after a valiant battle with cancer. Services will be officiated by Donnie Loyd and will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2024, at Grace Baptist Church in Gilmer, TX, where Jam has been a faithful member for 14 years. Visitation will begin at 1:30 pm and services at 2 pm. Arrangements are under the direction of McWhorter Funeral Home.
Surviving him are his wife and the love of his life, Elizabeth Ann Jaramillo, and his "Mom and Dad" Jhonnie and Leslie Lawrence, "Brothers" John and Richard (Heather) Lawrence, "Niece" Allison Wilson, "Nephews" Zane Lawrence and Micah Watson, sister Santa and brother Savino of San Antonio. Jam was a resident of Gilmer, TX.
He has worked for 14 years for Leslie's Outdoor Power, Longview, TX as a warehouse manager. During the last few years, he has been an enthusiastic member of Kairos Prison Ministries, giving up his personal time and funds to visit many Texas prisons to share Jesus with the incarcerated. He enjoyed watching a variety of sports activities, among them a Texas Rangers baseball game with his Mom, a fishing trip with his brother Richard, and a Dallas Cowboys game with his brother John. And yes, he left this earth still thinking that Pro Wrestling was real. He also enjoyed contemporary Christian artists and had recently attended a Casting Crowns concert as well as Crowder. He was our resident missionary at Leslie's Outdoor Power. You could often see him in the parking lot witnessing to or praying with customers. Many customers would stop by just to see him for prayer.
Thank you to Grace Baptist Church Gilmer for loving and supporting Jam all these years in his Kairos endeavors and the love and prayers you've shown for him during this difficult time. Thank you also to the pastors and friends from Gilmer Apostolic Church as well as his work family and friends for the many visits, support, and prayers throughout his illness. Thank you to his special nurses Corrina, Katrina, and Stephanie from HeartsWay Hospice for the care and love they gave him. We loved him and will miss him so much, but we can envision his delighted face as he left all the pain behind and met his precious Jesus!
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Kairo's Prison Ministry, P. O. Box 79084, Saginaw, TX 76179.
