Barbara was a graduate of Mercy Academy. She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, a former member of the St. Agnes Traditional Choir, a member of the Veritas Society of Bellarmine University, and the Bellarmine Women's Council.
Barbara was preceded in death by her loving husband of 68 years, William J. Stewart, her brother David, and her sisters Martha Jean Wimsatt, Sarah Schank.
Barbara is survived by her sons Michael (Alison), Paul (Leslie), and Patrick; grandchildren Sean (Jenn), Andrew (Morgan), Angela (Cabe St. Clair), Sophia Stewart, and step grandson Logan Cooper (Kelly), five great grandchildren, six sisters: Mary Virginia Wilson, Beatrice Orkies, Suzanne Dugan (Fred), Kathleen Cashon (Dale), Ann Wallace, and three brothers; Philip Schank (Gail), Mark Schank (Donna), and Gregory Schank.
Her visitation will be on Tuesday, August 19th, from 11:00am-12:00pm at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 1920 Newberg Road, Louisville KY, 40205 with a Funeral Mass at 12:00pm. Burial to follow at St. Michael's Cemetery.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to St. Agnes Church in lieu of flowers.
