Betty Doris Blount Carter Aka (Cheeks) departed this life on Wednesday May 21, 2025 at her residence in Rocky Mount, NC. Betty Carter was born to the Late Bessie Mae Blount of Rocky Mount, North Carolina.
Betty was educated in the Rocky Mount Public School System. She worked for UniFirst Company, Rocky Mount Undergarment and retired from Donnelly Marketing. Betty was a dedicated mother, sister, aunt and grandmother. She enjoyed fishing, cooking, dancing and she was always smiling. She was a very loving soft- spoken woman and dedicated her whole life to her family, especially the grandchildren.
Betty was preceded in death by her mother Bessie Mae Blount, her siblings Herman Blount (Jean Blount), Staff Sergeant Bobby Bowden. She was also preceded in death by her son, Hartvey Blount, her daughter Jacqueline Carter, her grandson Steve Moore, her nephews Alvin Blount, and Tyrone Blount.
Betty leaves to cherish her memory, her children Terry Blount (Retha) Rocky Mount, NC, Dennis Ray Blount (Rose) Asheboro, NC, Charles Blount, Rocky Mount, NC, Angelina Blount Rocky Mount, NC, Deborah Carter Roanoke Rapids, NC Robin Carter, (K'IKI) Rocky Mount, NC, Shania Blount Rocky Mount, NC, one special daughter, Eileen Phyllis Blount of Rocky Mount, NC, her siblings Ernestine Blount, Waukegan, IL, Bessie Maxine Cabbagestalk, Rocky Mount NC, sister-in-law Annie Bowden, Ayden NC. a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren.
A Visitation for Mrs. Carter will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Saturday, May 31, 2025, in the Rocky Mount Chapel of H.D. Pope Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am, on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at the Rocky Mount Chapel of H.D. Pope Funeral Home located at 325 Nash Street in Rocky Mount, NC. The interment will immediately follow the service in the Pineview Cemetery in Rocky Mount, North Carolina.
