Bobby Mack Lynch, 92, of Lubbock, formerly of Clyde, passed away Friday, April 12, 2024, at Brookdale Remington Park Assisted Living. A graveside service with military honors will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 22, 2024, at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery at Abilene under the direction of Bailey Howard Funeral Home of Clyde. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Bobby was born January 21, 1932, in Denton to Edwin and Bessie (Free) Lynch. He retired from the U.S. Air Force as Master Sergeant after serving for twenty-seven years, including time during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. During his service, he earned the Air Force Good Conduct Medal, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and the Air Force Overseas Long Tour Ribbon. He married Dorothy Marsh in Merkel, Texas, on April 21, 1979. Bobby was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Military Society, National Association for Uniform Services, and the Church of Christ.
He is survived by two sons, Steve Lynch and wife Angie of Flower Mound and Jeff Lynch and wife Angie of Clyde; two stepdaughters, Brenda Wilson of Abilene, and Gwendolyn Burnett of Lubbock; ten grandchildren, Cassidy Bennett, Joshua Bennett, Brent Burnett, Jodie Ellis, Hayden Favero, Joe Favero, Aimee Fletcher, Chris Wilson, Brandon Wilson, and Cailean Yarbrough; and many great grandchildren.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Bessie; wife, Dorothy Fay Lynch; and two brothers, Calvin Lynch and Jim Tom Lynch.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Direct Health Care Home Health & Hospice, 7402 University Ave., Lubbock, TX 79423.
