Carol Ann Burton, 68, of N. Dinwiddie, VA, passed away on April 22, 2024 after a brief battle with cancer.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Ruth Burton; brother, Robert “Bobby” Burton; sisters, Bessie “Bootsie” LaPrade, Evelyn Cogbill; and nephews, Thomas Davis, Reginald “Duke” Davis, and Michael Wells.
Left with her memories are husband, Robert “Darren” Gibbs; son, Merrill “Monk” Wells, III (Jessie), two grandsons; sister, Linda Wells (Mike), as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Carol had a passion for horses and a love for animals. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her honor to Dinwiddie County Animal Shelter, 10903 Wheelers Pond Road, Dinwiddie, VA 23841.
The family would like to thank At Home Care Hospice for their diligent and kind care.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at Blandford Cemetery. Following the service, there will be a gathering at the home of Love Ramsey.
