Cathye Schafer Obituary

Cathye Schafer, age 70, passed away on December 19, 2023, in Lyles, Tennessee. Born on April 15, 1953, in Nashville, Tennessee, she touched the lives of many with her warm spirit and kind heart. Cathye's passing is certainly a loss felt deeply by her family and friends. Preceded in death by her daughter, Kellye Holt Whitmore, parents, Fred Cooper, and Helen Adele Stinson.

Survived by her loving husband, Steve Schafer, children, Shannon Schafer, Stephanie Blair, and Steven Schafer, 10 grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren, brother, Darryl (Holly) Cooper, nephews, Nick (Jamie) and Chris (Julie), nieces, Lauren (Kyle) and Kala (Tim).

She had a special place in her heart for animals, particularly her doggies, Suzie, Hank, Whiskey and Bruno who brought her unconditional love and companionship. Horseback riding was another activity that brought Cathye immense happiness. There was a spark of joy in her eyes every time she sat atop a horse, feeling the rhythm of each stride beneath her. The connection she had with these magnificent creatures was truly magical.

Cathye's true passion shone brightest during the holiday season. Christmas held a special place in her heart as she delighted in turning her home into a festive wonderland. From beautifully adorned trees to intricately designed decorations scattered throughout every corner of the house - Cathye's creativity knew no bounds when it came to celebrating any magical time of the year. She loved shopping for all the holiday seasons. May her family and friends find solace in the cherished memories they shared with her, providing comfort during this difficult time.

A visitation will take place Saturday December 23, 2023, from 9:30 am until the Celebration of Life 11:30 am all held at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home 9090 Highway 100, Nashville, TN 37221.
