LINCOLN
CLEAR Jr., Charles C. 89, of Lincoln, passed away on Monday, May 23, 2022 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Dolores (Imondi) Clear and they had been married for the past 68 years.
Born in Carp Lake, Michigan, he was the son of the late Charles C. Clear Sr. and Fern Irene (Place) Clear. He resided in Lincoln for most of his life but never lost his Midwestern mannerisms and a love of his home state.
Charles entered the United States Navy at the age of 17 and served aboard the U.S.S Yosemite during the Korean War era. He was stationed in Newport, RI where he met his beloved wife.
Following his honorable and faithful service to our country, Mr. Clear was employed as a painting contractor and vice president for the Freeway Construction Company in Pawtucket, RI for more than forty years until his retirement.
Charles was a life member of the VFW and enjoyed all Veteran-related functions and activities. He also loved genealogical research and was able to trace his family roots from Germany to America long before the Revolutionary War. His family ancestry included those who served in every major conflict of the United States since the Revolution.
Those who love him will always remember him as an honest, "salt-of-the-earth" personality who was always ready to lend a helping hand. He was a dedicated family man who always had a smile and a story to share. He was an exceptional example of kindness, patience, and integrity, something his family, his grandchildren, and his great-grandchildren will always cherish.
In addition to his wife, he leaves his children: David W. Clear and his wife, Bet; Debbi L. Nelson and her husband, Bob; and Charles C. Clear III. He was predeceased by his young daughter, Lori Grace Clear. He also leaves his three grandsons: Bradford Nelson and his wife, Christy; Mark Nelson; and Christopher Nelson. His great-grandchildren, Olivia and Jackson, were the lights of his life. He will be missed.
His funeral and burial will be private.
