Mrs. Charlet M. Kaplan

Charlet M. Kaplan, 66, of Albany, died Monday, March 10, 2014 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Her funeral service will be at 2 PM on Thursday, March 13, 2014, at Temple B'Nai Israel, 3917 Gillionville Dr., Albany, GA 31707. Interment services will follow at Riverside Cemetery. Student Rabbi Andy Dubin will officiate. Mrs. Kaplan was born in Jacksonville, FL and had lived in Albany since 1972. She was a graduate of the University of Georgia. Mrs. Kaplan was a loyal and devoted member of Temple B'Nai Israel. She served as a Trustee of the congregation, and was a Past President of the Temple Sisterhood. She was instrumental in getting the Judaica shop, a gift shop, established at the current building, and she was in charge of it for several years. Mrs. Kaplan volunteered at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital for many years. She escorted school children through the hospital's nursery. She also served on the Chehaw Board for several years. Mrs. Kaplan is survived by her husband: Stephen J. Kaplan, Albany; a son: Alex Kaplan and his wife April, Albany; 2 grandchildren: Dallas James Kaplan and Kellen Davis Kaplan, both of Albany.
