Conchetta 'Connie' A. Deblack
Conchetta "Connie" A. Deblack, 98, died Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Cornerstone Villa in Buhl, Minn.
She was born December 4, 1926, to Ralph and Raffaella (Valente) Jerulle in Hibbing, Minn. Connie grew up in Kitzville. A homemaker by trade, Connie graduated from high school and married Ludwig Deblack in 1952. They were together until his passing in 2019. She was an active member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Hibbing, volunteering on many occasions. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, gardening, and canning as many of her favorite hobbies throughout her lifetime. She also belonged to ceramics and macrame' groups in town.
Connie is survived by her three children, Ronald (Karen) Deblack, Big Lake, Minn., Diane (Jacob) Nichols, Mt. Iron, Minn., and Lori (Donovan Landgraff) Deblack, St. Petersburg, Fla.; seven grandchildren: Theodore (Christie) Nichols, Duluth, Minn., Andrea (Nate) Sele, West Fargo, N.D., Troy (Annie) Nichols, Mt. Iron, Minn., Gavin (Jenessa) Nichols, Proctor, Minn., Andrew (Claire) Deblack, St. Petersburg, Fla., Richard (Emily) Deblack, Cross Lake, Minn., and Katie Deblack, Hibbing; step-granddaughter, Amber (Jesse) Babich, Hibbing; five great-grandchildren: Gino and Cade Nichols, Piper and Roland Deblack, Gordie Sele, and Faye Nichols, along with many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ludwig; parents; four brothers: Frankie, Nicky, Pauly, and Tony Jerulle; sister, Rosie Clemens; and her granddaughter, Bethany Nichols.
Funeral services for Connie will be at 1:00 pm, Thursday, March 6, 2025, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Hibbing. The Rev. Fr. Bill Skarich will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial. Visitation will be one hour prior to the Funeral Mass at the church on Thursday. A private interment will be held at a later date. Connie's family would like to express a sincere thank you to all the Cornerstone Staff for the wonderful loving care she has received over the past 6 years.
