Constance Jeannine Renaud Moody ("Connie Moody"), 84, of Avon, CT, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2024. Born in Lewiston, Maine, Connie was the beloved daughter of the late Gerard and Lumina Renaud. She was predeceased by her devoted husband of 46 years, Arthur Monroe Moody III ("Terry"), in 2017.
Connie embodied strength, grace, and a spirit that touched the lives of all who knew her. She was cherished by family, friends, and anyone fortunate enough to encounter her. She relocated to Connecticut with her husband to raise their family and remained deeply connected to her roots and her extended family throughout her life.
A dedicated Registered Nurse, Connie's career began with distinction as a Captain in the United States Air Force. She went on to serve in various departments at Boston Medical Center and in public health in Boston. Connie's passions were as vibrant as her spirit. She found immense joy in the outdoors, particularly in sailing, hiking, and skiing across New England. Summers were spent sailing the coastal waters with Terry and their children, while winters and autumns were devoted to hiking and skiing in the region's mountains. It was on the slopes of Vermont where she first met Terry, and they were married in a charming ski town.
Connie had a deep appreciation for the arts, frequently attending musical concerts, especially the summer performances at Tanglewood in Lenox, Massachusetts. She also loved exploring art museums, always finding beauty and inspiration in creativity. A lifelong devout Catholic, Connie was an active member of her church communities in Woodbury and Avon, CT, where she lived for nearly thirty and over twenty years, respectively.
Connie is survived by her children, Elizabeth of Oakland, California, and Marc of Salt Lake City, Utah; her grandchildren, Annia and Zak; her brother Reggie; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband Terry, she was predeceased by her sisters, Frances and Jeannine.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on the evening of September 6th at Wiggin-Purdy-McCooey-Dion Funeral Home, 655 Central Ave, Dover, NH. A Catholic Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 AM on Saturday, September 7th, at St. Mary Church, Rollinsford, NH, followed by burial in Rollinsford.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Connie's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.
