Cindy Howard, 58, passed peacefully on September 4, 2023, at the VNA Treasure Coast Hospice House.
Cindy was born in Norfolk, Virginia on April 2, 1965 to George and Linda Coleman. She spent much of her childhood growing up in Central Florida where Linda worked and where her special Granny lived. Much time was spent with her only brother, Jeff Davids, and her Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. Cindy graduated from Osceola High School in Kissimmee, Fl.
Cindy met the love of her life, David Howard, while they were both working at Walt Disney World. They became serious quickly and were engaged by the end of that summer. Cindy completed her AA degree from Florida Junior College in Jacksonville while living with her "second mother" Pat Howard, and David finished his agriculture studies at the University of Florida.
Cindy and David married in Jacksonville on May 10, 1986, and moved to Port St. Lucie where David began work in the citrus industry. She continued her studies in accounting at Florida Atlantic University. A gifted student and dedicated worker led her to graduate with a Masters Degree with Honors in Accounting. Shortly thereafter Cindy received her license as a Certified Public Accountant and began work in Vero Beach with the KPMG accounting firm. Several years of work at KPMG led to a fulfilling accounting career with numerous positions at citrus firms, construction companies, and local businesses in Vero Beach.
Cindy's greatest passion came with her marriage to David and becoming a mother. In 1994 they were blessed to have a son Cody (Sarah), her first grandchild James in 2022, and in 1996 a daughter Samantha (Nathan). Having children and being a mother was the most rewarding role of her life. A doting mother who was always involved in extracurricular and classroom volunteering gave her ultimate satisfaction. To know that each of their children had achieved both academic success at the University of Florida and work success in engineering and architecture made her the proudest mother.
A celebration of life will be held in the near future. Donations in memory of Cindy may be sent to the Alzheimers/Parkinson Association of Vero Beach, or the Visiting Nurses Association of the Treasure Coast,
Arrangements are by Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home & Crematory, Vero Beach.
